It is truly a shame that if there is someone you love, laying alone and sick, and they are waiting for you to come to visit, it is almost impossible.  Why?  Because parking could and sometimes does keep people away because it cost to much.

I was on the phone with a friend and we were talking about another friend of ours who is really sick and in the hospital.  She was telling me that she actually parked near where our friend lives and takes a cab from there and it costs almost half of what it would be if she were to park in the hospital parking lot. It can cost up to $22.00 for being there more than 3 hours. 

Now that is SICK!  How can an institution charge for parking that way?  What is a family to do if their child is laying there waiting for mom and dad and big sister and they can’t visit because of parking.  I know they grab a bus or a train for $2 or $3 dollars and they leave sis home cause they can’t really pay for her either.

I know that sound extreme, but it make me mad because I’m on a fixed income, gas is expensive and now I have to worry that I can’t see my friend because of not affording the parking.

I know of other hospitals that are parking free and the hospital has not fallen apart.  All hospitals are feeling the crunch, but they see that people come first not the pocket-book.
